Cuba rejects coercive measures against Venezuela

Havana, Jan 27 (Prensa Latina) Cuba reiterated on Wednesday its condemnation of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Venezuela by the US Government.

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez tweeted expressing the condemnation and added that many of these actions prevent Venezuela ‘from using its funds to purchase supplies, medical equipment and Covid-19 vaccines.’

Hostile policies decided by Washington enforce the blockade of Venezuela and even freezing and theft of its assets and create hardships for the population, according to the government of President Nicolas Maduro.

Venezuela reported to the United Nations on Monday the impact of coercive measures as the main cause that push Venezuelans to emigrate.

The representative of Venezuela Arline Diaz asserted during her participation in the 13th Summit of the Global Forum on Migration and Development that the punitive actions imposed by the United States and its allies generated a direct impact on the well-being of the population and constitute the main factor causing the migratory phenomenon.
