Havana, May 23 (Prensa Latina) Consumption of pork meat is growing internationally, given its great acceptance and its development is a good business, stated here US pork meat producer Johm Hagenbuch, now a participant in an international forum on this kind of industry held in Cuba.
Hagenbuch, a pork meat producer coming from Illinois, US, told reporters that the consumption of pork meat is growing in that US state.
He said that he is attending the 7th International Seminar with the name of Porcicultura Tropical 2017, to know about the Cuban experiences and see the possibilities for cooperation.
For his part, US investigator David Headly, also from Illinois, who has visited Cuba more than once, praised the Seminar, and said it has been quite positive.
The 7th International Seminar is in session in a hotel from Havana, with the participation of more than 200 experts, entrepreneurs and producers from 16 countries, taking part in 100 lectures and 5 workshops.
Feeding, nutrition and health, genetics, reporduction and ebnvironment are among the topics to be discussed in the event, which is going to be finished for Friday.
The delegations with most members are: Spain, Mexico, US, Brazil, Colombia and China.
The event is sponsored and by the Cuban Institute for Pork Investigations, and 39 local institutions are represented in it, including universities.
