Cuba Opens Bank Accounts to Help People Affected by Irma

Havana, Sep 26 (Prensa Latina) Bank accounts for individuals living in Cuba to deposit money have been opened as solidarity contributions to help the people affected by Hurricane Irma, Granma newspaper reports.

Faced with the damage caused by the hurricane, Cuban citizens have expressed their interest in making monetary contributions for the recovery of the country, the report states.

For this purpose, bank accounts were opened in Cuban pesos and Cuban convertible pesos, so individuals living in the island can deposit money.

Donations can be done by cash deposits, which can be made at any banking office in the country; bank transfers, and ‘network’ cards in ATMs, telephone banking and mobile banking.
