Cuba lashes out a US economic, trade and financial blockade

Havana, Sep 20 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, stressed today that the damages of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against the island now extend, with greater aggressiveness, to all national sectors.
‘The blockade of #EEUU contra #Cuba impacta – as never before – on the daily life of every Cuban family, in every sector of our economy, in every social development project in the country,’ said the Cuban Foreign Minister in a message on Twitter in which he recalled the presentation this Friday of the updated report on the damage caused by the US economic hostitilty.

Rodriguez will be presenting the report, which is the draft resolution entitled Need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba that Havana will take to the UN General Assembly.

The resolution will be presented by the island on November 6, for the twenty-eighth occasion, before the United Nations General Assembly, a forum in which for almost three decades the international community has reiterated its overwhelming support for the Caribbean nation’s claim for the cessation of the American blockade.

However, the US government reinforces the aggressiveness of this policy that it has maintained for almost 60 years as an instrument of coercion to try to overthrow the Cuban government.

These days the island is coping with a shortage of fuel supply, particularly diesel, due to pressure and threats from Washington against shipping companies and insurance companies.
