Cuba Hosts World Congress of Economic Management and Development

Havana, May 16 (Prensa Latina) The World Congress of Economic Management and Development began in Havana today attended by 800 specialists, 300 of them from more than 20 countries, included Mexico, Spain, and Ecuador.

The forum, to be held until February 19th at the Conference Center in Havana, is organized by the National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba (ANEC), and no less than 60 papers will be discussed during meetings.

Oscar Luis Hung, president of ANEC of the organizing committee, explained that issues related to new approaches to financial and management accounting with regards to the practical application of monetary information rules will get special attention at the conference.

The role of independent and government audits, the effectiveness of public policies and management, the role of cooperatives in economic development and new trends in business management and administration, particularly with respect to increasing the impact on sustainable and socially responsible development, will be also discussed.

The 10th International Meeting of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, the Fourth Congress of Public Administration for Development, the Third Congress on Cooperative and the First Congress on Management and Business Management, will be held in parallel to the Congress. These events will facilitate the search for concrete solutions to issues affecting national and global environments.

According to organizers, one of the new features of the conference is that 16 companies of ANEC will take a leading role.

Among the workshops included in the scientific program are: ‘The impact of the economic consulting in the development of business management’, ‘The challenges for public policies in the current situation’, ‘Globalization for development’, and ‘Advantages, disadvantages and trends in Micro-credits’.
