Havana, May 16 (Prensa Latina) The 8th Latin American Congress of Health Psychology, Alapsa 2018, started today in this capital to exchange experiences and work methods of the specialty with delegates from more than 10 countries.

Today’s agenda includes the analysis of issues such as Theoretical and methodological aspects of health psychology; Family and community health, and Child and youth health psychology, among others.

According to the president of the organizing committee, Olga Esther Infante, there are many contributions that Latin American psychology offers to contribute to the welfare of our peoples, but there are still many questions to answer.

Joining efforts to face common problems, respecting the contexts in which they are expressed, is a motivation for this meeting, she said.

Major and emerging issues will be addressed during the meeting by leading personalities from different regions of the world through keynote speeches, symposiums, roundtable discussions, panels and other modalities, she stated.

Prior to Alapsa 2018, organized by the Cuban Society of Health Psychology, pre-congress courses were held in the presence of delegates from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Spain.
