Havana, Oct 13 (Prensa Latina) The National Conference on Science, Technology begins its sessions today in this capital, with debates about a group of 28 programs indispensable for Cuba’s development.
Among the priorities for the country in those sectors are the animal and human food production, sustainable energy development, promoting efficiency, saving, and the use of renewable energy sources, and automation and computerization of the society.
Also included the adaptation to climate change, sustainable use of natural resources, making emphasis in water, economy, territorial and urban planning, biotechnological productions and vaccines, and researches in exact and natural sciences.
A group of new programs includes issues on the Cuban society, sport and human development, natural and traditional medicine, and international relations.
The event will take place today and tomorrow in Convention Center, in Cojimar, in Havana, attended by more than 200 members of the scientific, technological and innovation community of the country.
“Science, Technology and Innovation for the development of a prosperous and sustainable Socialism” is the motto of this event, which will include four committees with 280 papers, six round tables, and exhibition of 100 posters.
Ministers and top authorities of science, technology and innovation sector, researchers, technologists and innovators across Cuba, particularly priority sectors such as energy, food production, health, climate change, environment, social sciences and humanities, will also participate.
National figures and representatives of organizations that can contribute more that the branches of sciences, technology and innovation speed up the sustainable development of the economy and society.
