Havana, Jul 20 (Prensa Latina) For the first time since March 11, when it reported the three initial cases, Cuba did not confirm new cases of the Covid-19 this Monday, an achievement long awaited by the authorities and the population.
The total number of people affected by the deadly disease has remained at 2,446, according to Francisco Duran, director of epidemiology at the Public Health Ministry.
At the daily press conference on the impact of the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus, Duran also noted that there was another day without deaths, the ninth consecutive day, and the number of deaths continued at 87.
According to the doctor, the day before, 123 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical-epidemiological surveillance, and another 135 people are being followed at home from Primary Health Care.
In addition, yesterday 2,914 cases were studied to determine Covid-19, caused by SARS-Cov-2, and 229,357 samples were taken for that purpose.
On the other hand, Duran stressed that of the patients diagnosed with the disease, 38 present a stable clinical evolution and none is in a critical or serious state.
