Havana, Mar 24 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban under 18 women”s volleyball team will endevor to get the pass for the World Championship of this age category at the upcoming Pan American Cup, said head coach Juan Carlos Ruiz.
‘Our first objective, is to qualify for the World Championship. We have trained hard, we have very talented players. And once we reach that goal, then we want to obtain a medal. This is a very young team, with a 15.7 average age, and 1.83 meter height,’ Cruz told sports reporters.
The Cuban squad, led by the 16 year-old and 1.86 meter tall Aylama Cese, will play with a 5-1 formation in this tournament, added the coach. Despite her young age, Cese has international experience. She played at the under 20 and under 18 World Cups in 2015, as well as at the under 23 Pan-American Cup in 2016.
