Cuba fighting Covid-19 without affecting other healthcare services

Havana, Jun 30 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez, stated that Cuba is moving towards the recovery of Covid-19 epidemic without affecting the rest of health services.

The foreign minister stressed in his Twitter account that this is possible because Cuba has assigned specialized institutions to deal with the pandemic.

Rodríguez specified that said institutions form an effective network, which includes 20 hospitals, 54 centers for suspects, 248 for surveillance of contacts and 40 to attend to travelers.

Until this Monday, Cuba reported 41 patients positive for SARS CoV-2 in hospital admission, with a stable clinical evolution, while another 61 people are being monitored.

The entire country, with the exception of the capital, began to apply measures for the gradual return to normality, based on favorable indicators in terms of the number of cases identified and those recovered, among others.

About 94 percent of those diagnosed so far with the disease have already recovered, but authorities reiterate the need to not neglect safety and continue applying safety protocols.
