Cuba Denounces US Seeks to Impose Colonial Power in Venezuela

Havana, Jan 24 (Prensa Latina) The United States intends to seize the Presidency of Venezuela to impose a colonial administration, a senior official of the Cuban Foreign Ministry warned Thursday.

On his Twitter account, the General Director for US Affairs at the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Fernandez de Cossio, said that it is a plan to create chaos and instability in Venezuela.

On Wednesday, Washington and allied countries in Latin America recognized the self-proclaimed president Juan Guaido – head of the National Assembly declared in contempt – an act that Caracas describes as a coup d’état and a violation of the institutional framework and the Constitution.

According to Fernandez de Cossio, the new anti-Venezuelan crusade represents an attempt to change the regime with the complicity of the media and the shameful service of some governments in the region.

The president of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, ratified the support of his government to his counterpart, Nicolas Maduro, and the Bolivarian Revolution.

Diaz-Canel rejected the coup d’état aimed at imposing in Venezuela a government servile to the United States.
