 Cuba denounces terrorist attack on its embassy in the US

Havana, May 4 (Prensa Latina) Cuba’s President Miguel Diaz-Canel denounced this Monday the terrorist attack against the country’s embassy in the United States, on intervening in the virtual summit ‘United Against Covid-19’, convened by the Movement from Non-Aligned Countries (MNOAL).

‘I must denounce, due to its severity, the terrorist attack with an assault rifle and over 20 bullet shots suffered by our embassy in Washington on April 30’, he said.

Diaz-Canel demanded a rapid and thorough investigation from the US government, severe sanctions, and the security measures and guarantees of the country’s diplomatic missions in its territory, as required by the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

The virtual meeting is led by Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev the country that holds the pro tempore presidency of MNOAL, and 15 States participate in the Contact Group format, representative of the regions that make up its 120 member countries.
