La Paz, Nov 27 (Prensa Latina) The ideas of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, are currently valid in an international context influenced by the advance of the right wing over the independence and sovereignty of peoples.
Two years after his physical death, Bolivians, Cubans and friends in solidarity with both countries met in this city to highlight the legacy of the Commander in Chief and the relevance of his ideas.
The President of the Bolivian Plurinational Legislative Assembly, Gabriela Montaño, expressed that Fidel’s life and work can be summed up in the word dignity, while emphasizing his struggle for education, health and the well-being of the peoples.
Meanwhile in Havana, students from the University of Havana stressed in this capital the role of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, in the formation of the ideas of social justice of the youth.
In statements to Prensa Latina, third-year Journalism student Indira Alonso pointed out that Fidel is a paradigm for young university students, and the main architect of what is currently education in Cuba.
In memory to the leader, for the second anniversary of his physical loss on November 25, 2016, she emphasized that his international legacy continues as the main guide of the struggles in the third world countries imposed against the imperialist hegemony.
Alonso explained that Fidel Castro’s political and moral stature makes him the essence of the behavior of Cuban university students, since he is in every march, parade, congregation and historical moment.
Besides, Niurka Diaz, who is in the fourth year of Law at the University of Havana, emphasized that Fidel Castro ‘is a man who is history, is Cuba and is the stronghold of the students in their daily actions’.
