Havana, (Prensa Latina) Cuba and the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) join forces on Tuesday to strengthen the capacity of local producers amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
In that sense, the Cuban Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Devorah Rivas thanked, on Twitter, the role of the WFP representative on Cuba, Paolo Mattei, in mobilizing resources to support food and nutritional security.

Meanwhile, Mattei expressed in a press release that this is an opportunity to contribute to the food and nutritional security of the most vulnerable groups and to support the effort of the Cuban government in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
For the Cuban authorities, increasing food production in the national territory is a priority, as is decreasing imports of these products.
