Cuba and Venezuela Ratify Mutual Solidarity to Counter Aggressions

Caracas, Jul 21 (Prensa Latina) The governments of Cuba and Venezuela ratified their solidarity and support in the face of the US hostility, at the Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

‘I met with Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez during the NAM Ministerial Meeting. We ratify the solidarity and support of our peoples and governments in the face of the hostility and irrational escalation by the US government,’ Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez wrote on his Twitter account on Saturday.

The US administration of Donald Trump has intensified the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba for almost six decades, along with the strengthening of unilateral sanctions against Venezuela, to promote the overthrow the Bolivarian Revolution.

In his speech at the opening session of the NAM Ministerial Meeting, the head of Cuban diplomacy urged to stop the application and promotion of unilateral coercive measures on independent nations, contrary to the principles of International Law.

‘In recent months, the US Government has tightened its open hostility against Cuba (…), the worsening of the blockade and its extraterritorial application is an attack on International Law and the sovereignty of all States,’ the minister said.

The Cuban diplomat stated that the Helms-Burton Act is the main political and legal instrument of US aggression that violates human rights.
