Cuba and UNESCO Evaluate Existing Relations

Havana, Nov 9 (Prensa Latina) The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Cuba Government currently have good relations.

This statement was made during a meeting between Cuban Foreign Vice Minister Abelardo Moreno and UNESCO Deputy Director General for Foreign Relations and Public Information, Eric Falt, who is on a visit to Cuba.

Both officials talked about the commemoration, in 2017, of the 70th anniversary of Cuba’s entry into the organization and the good state of existing relations between the international entity and the Caribbean country.

Moreno commented on the great importance that Cuba gives to its relations with UNESCO.

Moreno also highlighted the honor to Cuba to be the chosen as the venue of the International Jazz Day in 2017, an opportunity that he described as an excellent way to mark the long tradition of this musical genre in Cuba.
