Cuba and Fiji ink visa waiver agreement

Suva, Oct 27 (Prensa Latina) Cuba and Fiji inked in Suva on Tuesday a reciprocal visa waiver agreement for holders of diplomatic and official passports, in order to facilitate citizens traveling and bilateral relations.

Mr. Yogesh Jitendra Karan, Acting Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Cuban Ambassador to Fiji Carlos Manuel Rojas signed the document on behalf of their respective governments.

Karan assured that this document will contribute to strengthening exchanges not only at the political and government level, but also at the technical level, in issues of common interest such as public health, biotechnology, sports, agriculture, and confronting climate change.

For his part, Rojas highlighted the relevance of the agreement for ties with Fiji and the rest of the region’s island states, taking advantage of his country’s status as a dialogue partner at the Pacific Islands Forum.
