Council of Churches of Cuba Regrets Religious Slaughter in the US

Havana, June 22 (Prensa Latina) The Council of Churches of Cuba (CIC) lamented Monday the slaughter occurred in the Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in the United States and expressed its solidarity with the families of the victims.

In a statement released in the capital, the CIC described the killing as a terrible event and shared the sense of the words of the National Council of Churches Christ the northern country where grief expressed by this fact and solidarity with the affected families ‘in this insensitive mass shooting’.

On last Wednesday Dylann Roof, young white 21, massacred nine people in the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, in a move described as hate crime by the authorities and rekindles debate in America on racism and possession of firearms.

Roof was charged with nine counts of murder for opening fire against African Americans attending a religious service.
