Coalition of emigrants in Miami mourns the death of Eusebio Leal

Washington, Aug 5 (Prensa Latina) Cuban and Latin American emigration organizations that make up the Alianza Martiana coalition in the US city of Miami expressed their regret on the recent death of the renowned historian Eusebio Leal.

‘Thank you for everything, Master,’ said the coalition in a statement in which they emphasize that they join the rest of the Cuban people and many in different regions of the world, who mourn ‘the death of our dear colleague and friend, Eusebio Leal Spengler , Historian of the city of Havana ‘.

We owe Eusebio a lot. Exemplary life and work for his tireless dedication as a historian and revolutionary, the text expressed when referring to who made Old Havana reborn to the point that its Historic Center was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1982.

It is not the restoration of a city, it is the creation of a Havana as it could never have been, and only his genius and love, the dedication of those who have accompanied him in the task, and the Revolution have made it possible, the text stressed.

The Antonio Maceo Brigade; the Martian Alliance -as an individual organization-; the José Martí Cultural Association; the Bolivarian Circle of Miami, Negra Hipólita; the Women’s Association; and Radio Miami emphasized that ‘we, part of the Patriot Emigration, as he described us, pay tribute to his example.’

Doctor in Historical Sciences and Master in Archaeological Sciences, Leal physically left on July 31 at the age of 77. His death shocked multiple personalities worldwide.
