Havana, Cuba, Jul 13.- The 14th International Circus Festival, Circuba 2015, will award today the best performances during the competition developed from July 8 to 12 in this city with the participation of artists from 12 countries.
The most applauded artists during these days were the Colombian duo of aerial gymnastics with ribbons Requiem; the young Russian juggler Diana Stepanova, from the Russian State Circus; the equilibrist Miguel Reyes, belonging to Venezuela’s Circosur; and a Brazilian couple of trapeze artists.
The aerial gymnastic duet with spheres belonging to Mexico’s Alebrije Circus, German Benedikt Baumann, from the Berlin Academy of Acrobatic Arts and the trapeze duo of Garret and Sadie, from United States, among other artists, also caused great impressions.
The members of the Havana Company, from Cuba, also impressed in multiple specialties.
Circuba 2015 is the most important event of its kind in Latin America and its jury includes personalities of the circus arts from Switzerland, United Kingdom, Hungary, Denmark, USA, France, Russia, Spain, Mexico, El Salvador and Cuba.
Also today, a group of national and foreign NGOs will grant collateral prizes to the most outstanding artists in the competitions.
Since July 17 the shows will move to several provinces of the country in a tour entitled Circuba travels through Cuba, which includes the cities of Camaguey, Bayamo, Holguin, Las Tunas, Santa Clara, Cienfuegos, Matanzas, Santiago de Cuba and Isla de la Juventud special municipality.(acn)
