Geneva, Sept 13 (Prensa Latina) Europe-Third World Centre (CETIM), a non governmental organization with an advisory status at the UN, denounced at the Council of Human Rights, the US blockade against Cuba, which qualifies as illegal, unilateral and illegitimate.
In a report filed to the Council, that continues its sessions in this Swiss city, the CETIM points out that such Washington’s policy is ‘illegal, illegitimate and can be assimilated as an act of non declared war by the US against Cuba.’
Bilateral negotiations during the last three years, which produced real advances such as, the opening of embassies, immigration agreements and cooperation in security matters, were directed towards normalization; however, the relations now enter a regressive phase.
The report added that the planned device for the new US administration pretends to hit socialist economy: what they seek is to damage Cuba, depriving its economy from maximum foreign incomes.
CETIM called on the two countries to take the road towards normalizing their relations, in accordance with the objectives and principles of the Charter of the United Nations.
