Havana, Jan 20 (Prensa Latina) The performance by the world-famous band Buena Vista Social Club on Saturday night is undoubtedly the great attraction at the 33rd International Jazz Plaza Festival, which will conclude on Sunday.
The concert by the famous all-star band is scheduled for 21:00 hours, local time, at the Teatro Nacional de Cuba’s Avellaneda hall, where the group will be accompanied by outstanding musicians.
According to the program of the event, the audience will enjoy the singing of Omara Portuondo, as well as performances by Eliades Ochoa, lute player Barbarito Torres and the young singer Idania Valdes.
The Cuban drummer Giraldo Piloto and his band, Klimax will perform tonight as well.
The concert to launch the CD ‘Mi Monte Espiritual’, by the pianist Alejandro Falcon, will be followed by the performance by the legendary jazz musician Eandy Weston, and finally the quintet directed by the saxophonist Yosvany Terry, at Havana’s Mella Theater.
The 33rd International Jazz Plaza Festival will close tomorrow with a concert by the pianist Roberto Fonseca and several guest artists.
