British Music Week in Cuba Reaches its Peak

Havana, Mar 25 (Prensa Latina) After several days mixing European and Cuban rhythms, the week of British music reaches its climax today with a concert by the rock group The Rolling Stones.

The members of the mythical rock group arrived to the Cuban capital for the show, which will be attended approximately by half a million people.

During the week, several Cuban artists offered their art at the Cuban Art Factory (FAC) with a concert tribute to British music. Among them were included the Cuban musicians Eme Alfonso, Lizzy, Hector Tellez Jr, Zule War, María Luna Alfonso and Nelson Labrada.

The cultural center Yellow Submarine also dedicated several days to British music, which was performed by Eddy Escobar and other guest artists.

Also were held panels to discuss about British music in Cuba with the participation of Guille Vilar, Juan Camacho and Joaquin Borges Triana.

The British rock photographerJill Furmanovsky exhibited at the Fototeca de Cuba dozens of rock star photographs.

The British Music Week concludes this weekend (March 26 and 27) with a concert that includes the Cuban Djs Reitt, Kike Wolf, Wicky de Vedado and the British Auntie Flo.
