Barbados, Cuba to discuss two-way collaboration issues

Bridgetown, Jan 9 (Prensa Latina) Barbados’ Foreign Minister Jerome Walcott and the Cuban ambassador Sergio Jorge Pastrana on Saturday discussed issues of bilateral collaboration and assessed the state of relations between both nations.

Walcott and Pastrana debated on sports cooperation and Cuba´s assistance to fight Covid-19 in Barbados, after sending 101 doctors of Henry Reeve Medical Brigade in April.

According to the official website of the Cuban embassies abroad, the proposal for the Nobel Peace Prize for such a brigade was also fostered, an initiative that is already supported by important personalities from Barbados and many other countries.

During the debate, openings to expand and deepen collaboration in health and other sectors were also addressed, with the purpose of keeping on strengthening bilateral relationships.
