Austria-Cuba Friendship Association rejects US blockade against Cuba

Vienna, Aug 4 (Prensa Latina) The representations of the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association (OKG) in the cities Linz and Sankt Polten (north) reiterated their rejection of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, diplomatic sources reported on Tuesday.

Through several activities recently carried out, the two subsidiaries promoted the #UnblockCuba and helpCuba campaigns, we help Cuba to put an end of the blockade! both aimed at demanding the cessation of US aggression against the island.

The first initiative is supported by numerous organizations across the world, and the second was launched by OKG in May with the purpose of getting the Austrian government to demand that the Trump administration end its hostile policy against Cuba.

Likewise, as part of those actions, OKG urged the European Union to oppose US sanctions against Cuba and other States for constituting serious violations of international law.

The Austrian organization also called for the cancellation of all Cuba’s external debts, as an act of solidarity and gratitude for the country’s support to other nations in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
