American Airlines Bets On Expanding Operations in Cuba

Havana, May 22 (Prensa Latina) The operations manager of American Airlines in Cuba, Ramon Jimenez, assured on Wednesday that the US airline has a long-term strategy to expand its flights to the island. We are very optimistic about the future of our links with this nation because until now the market has responded satisfactorily, Jimenez explained during a meeting of the International Air Transport Association held in this capital.

He set out that the firm flies to six Cuban cities: Havana, Varadero, Santa Clara, Camagüey, Holguin and Santiago de Cuba.

In July we plan to start the sixth daily flight between Havana and Miami, in the US state of Florida, and this month we connect that city with Santiago de Cuba, he stressed.

We are the airline with the most flights between Cuba and the United States, he underscored.
