Air France cooperates with Cuba in fight against Covid-19

Havana, Aug 16 (Prensa Latina) Air France’s cooperation with Cuba in the fight against Covid-19, by carrying medical supplies and other major products, has been one of the most read news from Prensa Latina.

The news agency noted that the arrival of a Boeing 777-300 plane of Air France at the Jose Marti International Airport was one of the most read stories on Prensa Latina’s website.

Before the pandemic, that airline covered international passengers’ routes, but it is currently carrying cargo to several destinations.

Air France executives in Havana explained that the priority is to carry products and resources bought by the Cuban State in several regions of the world to preserve and save lives amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Until August 13, more than 130 tons of cargo for the fight against Covid-19 arrived in Havana through Air France, which flights to Cuba every week. All operations are carried out under strict safety protocols, according to the report.

Antoinette Zullo, general manager of Air France-KLM in Cuba, said that the company is participating in the import and export of major products for development.

Fidel Ferrer, Air France manager for Cuba and the Dominican Republic, explained that the company has created a small network to carry cargo worldwide, covering 110 destinations, including Havana since May 7.

In the case of exports, Air France has so far carried more than 385 tons to a dozen destinations all over the world, he pointed out.
