Havana, Jul 1 (Prensa Latina) “The 1st Congress on Aesthetics and Cosmetics in Cuba will change the view on that field”, said today here president of the organizing committee Diego Tomatis in the opening speech.
The event has as main goal to pave the way for founding an international school of aesthetics and cosmetics to recognize the professional contents.
Argentinian specialist Tomatis said that Cuba will be the center for developing aesthetics as a responsible profession, a project that involves the Ministry of Public health, the cosmetics group of the Cuban Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the school Bella Caribe and other institutions linked to that field.
The work by Cuban doctor Leonel Amador was praised for the foundation of the Institute of Perfumery in Cuba.
Many of the products will be sold in the trade exhibition and the business forums held along the event, which include domestic and foreign companies that offer services and technologies for make-ups, hairdressers and skin treatments.
The congress, organized by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) and the ministry of Domestic Trade (MINCIN), is attended by more than 700 specialists from Latin America, Europe, Caricom country members and the United States.
The activities of this congress will run until Sunday afternoon at the Havana’s Conference Center.
