14 Countries’ Experts Debate in Cuba on Accounting, Finances

Havana, May 22 (Prensa Latina) More than 300 experts from 14 countries participate in the XI International Meeting of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, which began here today to discuss issues of special relevance of economic sciences.

Specialists from three continents present different views on the current complex regional and international situation, stressed the ipresident of the National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba (ANEC), Oscar Luis Hung when inaugurating the forum.

These approaches, he stressed, will allow the swelling of the arsenal of policies and tools demanded by the new world economic order.

Participants examine topics of special relevance to the economic sciences at the meeting, the results of which are expected to contribute to the consolidation of a solvent and structured financial system.

The Congress will be held at the Palacio de Convenciones and its conclusion is scheduled for next Wednesday, following lectures by the professors of the Buenos Aires University and La Sapiensa- in Rome – Ricardo Palhen and Luciano Vasapollo, respectively.

Speaking at the forum, Finance and Prices Minister Lina Pedraza said that Cuba foresees a three percent increase in its net income to the State Budget this year, compared to 2016 estimates.

Tax revenues are expected to increase by 4.5 percent, being the main source for the Budget, and projected expenditures will grow by 11 percent, with 72 percent of current expenditures being devoted to basic social services linked to the quality of life of the population, he added.
